HEBS Lagos 2026 Event Portal · Last updated: 2 September 2026

Who is responsible

HEBS, organiser of HEBS Lagos 2026, decides how and why personal data is processed through this portal.

What we collect

  • Everyone registering: name, email address, phone number, country and city.
  • Contestants: competition category, entry type, team name and team size, and optionally biography, Instagram handle and portfolio link.
  • Vendors and sponsors: business or company name, contact details and your enquiry.
  • Payment: payment status, method, reference, and any proof-of-payment document you upload. Card payments are handled by Stripe — we do not receive your card number.
  • Automatically: referral and campaign source. If you accept advertising measurement, identifiers set by Meta and Google cookies.

Why we process it

For contestant and ticket registration, we process the information above to take the steps you have asked us to take: to administer your registration, process your payment, deliver your confirmation and entry information, and perform the event registration arrangement between you and HEBS.

For vendor and sponsor enquiries, we process your details to respond to your enquiry and to take steps at your request before any agreement is entered into.

Analytics and advertising measurement are separate and entirely optional. They happen only if you consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Who else receives your data

  • Stripe — card payment processing
  • Resend — confirmation and notification email
  • Base44 — portal hosting and data storage
  • api.qrserver.com — generating your entry QR code
  • Meta and Google — only if you accept advertising measurement

Some service providers may process personal data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, HEBS is required to ensure that the transfer has an appropriate basis under Part VIII of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Cookies and advertising measurement

This portal uses cookies that are necessary for it to function. These cannot be switched off.

We also use Meta Pixel and Google Analytics 4 for analytics and advertising measurement. These load only after you accept. Until then, neither is present on the page and neither sets any cookie.

If you accept advertising measurement, we may send Meta hashed versions of identifiers such as your name, email address and phone number, together with technical information used for advertising measurement. If you reject, none of this is sent and your registration is not shared with Meta for advertising measurement.

You can change your choice at any time using Cookie preferences, shown at the bottom of the page. Withdrawing consent stops further tracking in your browser and stops your registration being shared with Meta. It cannot undo collection or sharing that already took place.

How long we keep it

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for event registration and administration, payment and accounting requirements, handling enquiries or disputes, and meeting applicable legal obligations. Different categories of information may therefore be kept for different periods.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may request access to your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, request a copy in a portable form, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a request, contact us at info@thehebs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
